This company was founded by Messrs. Leopold Buysschaert and Georges Dupont in the early 1950s. Thereafter, Mr. Pierre Buysschaert continued to manage the company. At that time, the company operated mainly as a supplier to mechanical workshops and garagists.
In 1990, the company was taken over by Luk Buysschaert. L.Buysschaert NV begins to focus more and more on supplying jewelers and goldsmiths. Shortly thereafter, in-house production of machines was started under the brand name “Buko” or BUysschaert KOrtrijk.
Today, the company enjoys both national and international acclaim. Luk Buysschaert stepped aside at the end of 2015 for the dynamic entrepreneur Kris Vierstraete who continues to build on the strengths of BUKO nv at home and abroad. With this acquisition, the existing brand name BUKO also becomes the new company name. The unique combination of wholesale and mechanical engineering remains unchanged !
